Questions about these Terms: joinsmoldr.com/support
Agreeing happens at signup, on the line above Continue, with both documents linked from it. Tapping Continue is the agreement. SMOLDR records which version was accepted and when.
When these Terms change, a screen appears the next time the app opens. It links to both documents and asks for a tap before going any further. Nobody is signed out. A change that only fixes a typo or reads more clearly does not trigger it; a change that takes something away or adds an obligation always does.
Carrying on using SMOLDR after that tap is the agreement to the new version. Anybody who does not want to agree can delete their account, and that button is on the same screen so nobody has to hunt for it. The deletion rules below apply as normal.
Until that tap, SMOLDR cannot be used. The screen stays up, nothing else in the app is reachable, and the only other control on it is Delete Account.
You must be 18 or older to use SMOLDR. There is no exception to this and no appeal against it.
If an account is reported as belonging to somebody under 18, that account comes out of Discover straight away, before anybody has read the report. A team member then reads it and decides whether the account is hidden or removed. The matches and the messages go with it.
Signing in is a phone number and a six-digit code texted to it. There is no password on a SMOLDR account. Location is locked to the phone's real GPS, and a reading the phone reports as coming from a spoofing app is refused.
There is no separate sign-up. A number that has never been on SMOLDR gets an account the first time its code is verified; a number that already has one signs straight in.
Sending codes to a number that is not yours is harassment, whether or not an account is ever created, and your number may be blocked from SMOLDR.
A new profile is not shown to anybody until one of its photos has been approved. Until then the rest of the app works: a new member can look around, like, and send a Note, and those are held and delivered the moment the profile is approved. A Like held more than 72 hours expires, and a Note held that long is refunded. The words are screened as they save, so a phone number, an email address, a link, or a handle for another app is refused. The same screening runs on a Note and on the first message of a conversation. Writing to Support or filing a report is not screened, because that is where you quote what somebody said. Changes to a name or bio afterwards go live immediately.
SMOLDR is a phone app, and it runs on one phone at a time. Signing in on a new phone signs you out of the old one.
If somebody else signs in to your account, the phone in your hand is signed out straight away and told why.
Real photos only. No memes, no stock images. A real face or body photo, blurred if the member prefers, or no photo at all. A fake image is not allowed.
No nudity on profiles, ever.
Every image sent in a one-on-one message arrives covered and is not downloaded until the recipient chooses to view it. Nudity is allowed in those messages after a match.
There is no unsend and no delete on a sent message, at any level, ever. A message is permanent once sent.
Do not share, post, or send another member's private photos to anyone. A photo sent in a private conversation is for the person it was sent to and nobody else. SMOLDR does not detect screenshots and does not attempt to block them.
An Introduction is one message per person, ever, and a Second Look is one more, once, ever. Neither can be re-sent by unmatching, by Reset Matches, or by any other route.
Prohibited conduct.
Harassment. Contacting somebody after they have asked you to stop, in any form. Threats of any kind, against a member or anyone else.
Impersonation and catfishing. Presenting yourself as somebody you are not, whether that is another real person or an invented one.
Scams and fraud. Asking members for money, investments or gifts, romance scams, crypto pitches, and phishing of any kind.
Solicitation and commercial use. Offering or soliciting paid services, advertising, recruiting, or promoting another platform or business.
Hate speech. Attacking somebody for what they are rather than what they did: race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, gender, sexuality or gender identity.
Illegal content, and anything at all involving a minor.
Getting around a block or a removal, including by creating another account.
What is allowed: explicit images may be sent between two people who have matched. They arrive covered and are not downloaded to the recipient's device until they choose to open them. The cover is the consent. Sending more after somebody has asked you to stop is harassment, and that is removal without a warning.
Members write to SMOLDR through Support in the app. If a response is necessary, it will arrive in your inbox.
Blocking is permanent from the blocked person's side and cuts off every route to the blocker, including paid ones. A Second Look is the only feature in SMOLDR that can reach somebody after they have said no, and a block stops it.
A report cannot be withdrawn. A member may clear their own copy of it off their Support screen, which changes what is on their phone and nothing else. SMOLDR keeps the report and still acts on it.
Reports carry a category, a free-text message, and an optional screenshot. A reported member is never told who reported them. The reporting member is told their report was received and that SMOLDR will look at it. No review time is promised for reports in general.
The enforcement ladder. Warning, then Under Review, then Suspended, then Removed. A warning lands in the member's inbox, cannot be hidden, and says plainly that continuing the behavior named costs them their remaining membership time and Notes. Removed is permanent.
Some behavior skips the warning entirely and goes straight to removal: anything involving a minor, threats of violence, impersonation or catfishing, and scams or commercial use. Everything else earns a warning first, including hostility short of a threat and breaking the profile rules.
A removal does not expire, and there is a door. A member removed for conduct may ask to come back after six months, through the appeal route on the website, and a team member decides. Never automatic: nothing runs down on a calendar and nobody is reinstated by one.
A member who believes the removal was a mistake does not wait six months. Say so in the appeal and it is read straight away. The waiting period is for asking to come back, not for correcting an error.
Two removals have no door. Threats of violence, and anything involving a minor.
SMOLDR may restrict an account while a report is being reviewed, before determining whether the report is true.
Under Review: removed from Discover and Who Likes Me; existing matches and conversations continue untouched.
Suspended: hidden everywhere, including from existing matches, and messaging stops.
Neither the reason for a restriction nor the reporter's identity is disclosed to the restricted person. The user-facing label is simply "Under Review."
A restricted member is told the moment the restriction takes effect. A notice arrives in their inbox saying the account is under review.
There is an appeal, and it is a reply. A restricted member stays signed in with their profile out of Discover and matching and messaging off, and Account and Support still reachable, so the notice is answered in the same place it arrived.
A member who has been removed outright cannot use that one, so the website carries the same appeal. It asks by email for the phone number on the account and the case, and says only that if the number matches an account, somebody will be in touch. It never confirms whether a number is on SMOLDR.
The same website carries a deletion request route, separate from the appeal. Deleting from inside the app stays the ordinary way to do it.
A member suspended on a report that turns out to be false or malicious gets a free month of Amplify. Not the days they lost, a full month, whether they had thirty days left or one. The same applies to any member harmed by a false report, not only one who was paying at the time.
It is granted by SMOLDR rather than paid out automatically, and it is refused where the reporter and the reported member are connected.
No auto-renew. A member is only ever charged when they choose to be. One-time purchases only, never a recurring subscription. Levels: Free / Explore / Pursue / Amplify, plus separately purchasable Notes.
Notes included with a membership arrive on a schedule and do not accumulate. Each new batch replaces whatever is left of the previous one. Notes purchased separately do not expire and stay on the account until they are used.
SMOLDR does not offer refunds. Purchases made through the App Store or Play Store follow that store's own refund process, which SMOLDR does not control. Purchases made through SMOLDR's own checkout are final, except where the law requires otherwise.
A membership ended by SMOLDR for a violation is not refunded. A membership or Notes lost to a restriction that turns out to have been a mistake are covered by the free month of Amplify.
Which half binds immediately. Rules of conduct and enforcement apply to everybody the moment they are published. Anything commercial, pricing, refunds, or what a Note buys, applies from the member's next purchase. Somebody who bought thirty days did so under the terms in force that day and keeps those thirty days under them.
A member who has not accepted can still delete their account, from the same screen.
Chargebacks. If a member disputes a direct purchase with their card issuer and the dispute is lost, the membership and its benefits end, the account drops to Free, and it is flagged. The flag blocks further direct purchases; that member can still buy through the App Store or Play Store. A chargeback on its own is not a removal. A second one is fraud, and that is.
A refund takes the Notes back. Unspent Notes are removed when a refund or a lost chargeback comes through, and where they were already spent the account is flagged.
When an account ends, unused Notes and remaining membership time are forfeit. That holds whether the member deleted the account themselves or SMOLDR terminated it for a violation, and it holds for Notes that were bought as well as Notes that came with a plan.
Member-initiated deletion is frictionless: type the word DELETE, with no confirmation gauntlet and no retention offers or discounts to stay. It is followed by one open-ended, optional survey question.
SMOLDR-initiated termination is set out above. The grounds are the prohibited conduct list. The notice is a written warning first, on the member's Support screen, which cannot be hidden and says what continuing costs, except for the behavior that skips the warning entirely. Nothing paid survives: remaining membership time and unused Notes end with the account. The profile's content is deleted like any other. The record of the removal and the phone number are kept.
SMOLDR introduces people to each other and does nothing more than that. It does not run criminal background checks, identity checks, or any other screening of its members, and it does not confirm that what somebody says about themselves is true.
Deciding whether to meet somebody, and where, and when, is each member's own decision and their own risk. SMOLDR is not responsible for the conduct of its members, on the app or off it, and that includes anything that happens when two people meet in person.
Take the ordinary precautions. Meet somewhere public the first time. Tell somebody where you are going. Leave whenever you want to leave, and report anybody who makes that difficult.
SMOLDR is provided as it is and as it is available, with no warranty of any kind, express or implied. That includes no warranty that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, that any member is who they say they are, or that using SMOLDR will produce a match, a date or a relationship.
To the fullest extent the law allows, SMOLDR LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or loss of goodwill, arising out of using SMOLDR or being unable to use it.
To the fullest extent the law allows, the total liability of SMOLDR LLC for any claim relating to SMOLDR is limited to the greater of what that member paid SMOLDR in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred dollars.
Some states do not allow some of these exclusions or limits. Where one of them is not permitted, it does not apply, and everything else in this section still does.
A member agrees to cover SMOLDR LLC's losses, including reasonable legal costs, where those losses arise from that member breaking these Terms, from their own conduct on or off the app, or from anything they posted, sent or shared.
These Terms are governed by the law of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. SMOLDR LLC is a Florida limited liability company.
